Singing with the Kenyans

This morning, as I was doing breakfast dishes in our guest house, the most glorious sound came through the window--a cappella singing of hymns in harmony.  We were a few minutes late to our morning devotions, but as we got started on our path, we could tell the singing was coming from the porch where we were to meet.  It was our group of native Kenya staff--service staff, maintenance and grounds workers.  They were all standing in a circle singing all the verses of a hymn in English, though with an African British accent.  It brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful.  They handed us hymnbooks and we joined in.  Next came a prayer of the most amazing praise of our Heavenly Father from one of the young men.  We then settled into a Bible Study of Acts, chapter 5.  In pairs, the workers all completed answers to the discussion questions.  Their contributions to the discussion were heart-felt and faith-filled.  Our director outlined the day's activities and problems with the water supply which needed to be prayed for.  Everyone was encouraged to consider what they were grateful for this day.  The group divided into smaller groups of men only and women only.  We then lifted up our praises, thanksgiving, and requests to God.
I am pretty sure this will be my favorite time of the day!
